Apple is increasing the prices of some of it’s services, like Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade Apple One bundle and Apple News Plus in the US.
New prices hike the costs up to 30% and will go into effect 30 days after their next renewal date. An Apple spokesperson has also confirmed that price hikes are coming to select international markets, although they didn’t mention which markets and how much they’re increasing by.
Price Hikes of up to 30%
Just a few days ahead of it’s quarterly earnings announcement, Apple is increasing the prices of some of it’s services, hopefully to boost investor confidence and eventually its share price.
The new changes apply to products like Apple TV Plus, Apple News Plus, Apple Arcade and the Apple One bundle. Starting with the Apple TV Plus, the service will now cost $9.99 per month($6.99 per month earlier) in the US.
Similarly, Apple Arcade has been increased to $6.99(from $4.99) and Apple News Plus to $12.99(from $9.99). Since all these are packed in the Apple One bundle, Apple is also increasing the price of it, as follows;
Here’s a rundown of the new pricing across Apple One’s three tiers:
- Individual: $19.95(up from $16.95)
- Family: $25.95(up from $22.95)
- Premier: $37.95(up from $32.95).
Talking to The Verge, an Apple spokesperson confirmed these changes and said they’ll go into effect “30 days later, on their next renewal date”. Further, Apple is also raising prices in “select international markets”, the spokesperson confirms.
These price hikes come exactly a year after the last change, when Apple increased the prices of Apple Music, Apple TV Plus and Apple One. Other services like Apple Music, Fitness Plus, and iCloud Plus remain the same, at least for now.
