ZTE is the next smartphone brand to launch it’s flip folding device. The Nubia Flip 5G is available for pre-order globally at a starting price of $499. Since the launch of the first Gen Samsung Galaxy fold smartphone, the folding smartphone has become the buzzword. Almost all the major OEMs have launched their folding smartphone, be it a book-like or flip-folding smartphone. ZTE’s latest offering ,The Nubia Flip 5G, is the cheapest folding smartphone available on the market and it is competing with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G and the Oppo Find N3 flip. Nubia Flip 5G specifications:
Like the other flip folding smartphones, the Nubia Flip 5G has the same design and looks. The rear side of the device has a big circular ring that houses a dual rear camera setup and inside the camera module is the outer display of the device. The outer display is a 1.43-inch OLED display panel with a pixel resolution of 466 * 466 pixels.
When unfolding, the device has a 6.9-inch full HD+ OLED display panel with 1,188 * 2,790 pixels and a fast 120Hz refresh rate. At the center of the primary display is a hinge which is used to fold the device into halves. The company claims that this hinge is capable of more than 200,000 folds.
Under the hood is the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset based on a 4nm fabrication paired with Adreno 644 GPU. The base variant comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, while the top-tier variant comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 13 out of the box.
For optics, there is a dual rear camera system that features a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout at the top center of the primary display.
Nubia Flip 5G is equipped with a 4,310 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The company has included a 33W fast-charging adapter inside the box. Other specifications include 5G, GPS, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, and the side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Pricing and Availability:
The device is available for Pre-order and will be available for shipment on the 23rd of April. Currently, the pre-order is available for Australia, China, Chile, Egypt, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Israel, Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States and Vietnam.
The base 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at $499 while the top-tier 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at $699. It comes in three colors – Cosmic Black, Flowing Lilac, and Sunshine Gold.
