Meta-owned WhatsApp reportedly started rolling out a new feature allowing users to pin multiple channels on top of the app. The app’s feature tracker spotted the new feature in a WhatsApp beta version on Android. Currently, there is no option to pin channels on the top of the app for easy access, but users can pin chats or groups on the top.

WhatsApp reportedly starts rolling the ability to pin multiple channels

As per the report from the app’s features tracker WABetaInfo, the most used instant messaging app, WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to pin up to two channels on the top. This feature was spotted in the app’s beta version 2.24.13.3 for Android by WABetaInfo. The process is simple, just like the pinning chats in the app. When users can pin channels, they have to touch and hold on to up to two channels and then tap the pin icon from the top bar. Once done, both channels appear on the top until they are unpinned.

This feature will further improve the user experience by making it easy to access the frequently used channels quickly. Like the pinned conversation, the channels can be accessed without scrolling through multiple chats and channels.

The ability to pin multiple channels is currently in the testing phase and is available for a few beta testers. It is available for those users who are part of the beta program and have installed the apps’ beta version 2.24.13.3 on Android. WhatsApp did not disclose the rollout of this feature for all users, but we expect it will be released in the coming months.

Meta-owned messaging is developing many new features and gradually rolling them out. If you can, enroll in the app’s beta program from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Also, ensure you have the latest version of the app installed on your smartphone.
