Xiaomi is the next major OEM to introduce a flip-folding smartphone with the announcement of Xiaomi Mix Flip. This is Xiaomi’s first attempt in launching a flip folding smartphone and it seems like they have done most of the things right. Now, almost every major Android OEM has a folding smartphone. the Mix Flip competes directly with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Flip 6. Check out the detailed specifications of the device below.
Xiaomi Mix Flip specifications:
Starting with the cover display which is very interesting in this device. The Xiaomi Mix Flip has a 4.01-inch AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 68 billion colors, Dolby vision, and 3000 nits of peak brightness. The cover display on this device is more useful and is bigger than the Galaxy Flip 6. Xiaomi calls this cover display the All Around Liquid outer display and offers a 16:9 functioning area for running full apps or just placing widgets.
When unfolded, the device has a bigger 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. the display supports HDR10+, 1 billion colors, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset based on 4nm fabrication. The chipset is paired with an Adreno 750 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. It runs on Xiaomi’s Custom skin HyperOS on top of Android 14 out of the box with promised future OS and security updates.
The cover display houses a dual rear camera setup each placed in a separate big circular camera island. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1.0µm binned pixels, and a 13.5 stops of dynamic range. The primary sensor is paired with a 50MP telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture, 46mm focal length, and 2x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has a 4,780 mAh battery that supports Xiaomi’s 67W fast Hypercharge technology. This is the second biggest battery in any of the flip folding smartphones after Honor Magic V flip which had a 4,800 mAh battery.
Xiaomi has also made improvements in the hinge of the device and using the mechanical hinge, users can use the device from different angles. Due to teh hinge, the device can also be used as a tripod for video recording.
Pricing:
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is available in Black, White, Purple, and a special Nylon fiber edition. The base 12GB and 256GB storage variant is priced at CNY 5,999 which is equal to €760/£640/$820 when converted.
