Instagram launched “Notes” back in December 2022. It is similar to the Facebook status feature but with a different name as users can share their statuses. After over a year, the Meta finally brings a much-awaited update to its Notes feature to make it more interactive. However, the new update is not new as most of these features are already present on Facebook. So, Instagram takes inspiration from its sister site and makes its notes feature more interactive and fun.
The new feature in Instagram Notes is called Notes Prompt which the image-sharing site tested earlier this year. Notes prompt allows users to ask questions with their friends, followers, and family on the status. Questions such as “What should I eat?” or “Who is going to be in X city this weekend?”
Friends can respond to the questions with random thoughts, tips, and suggestions. It is similar to the Facebook status feature. Another feature that Meta brings to Instagram Notes is the mention feature which allows users to tag their friends in the status.
The social media giant also adds a like feature in the Notes which works similarly to how the likes feature works in the app. The users have to double-tap on any status on Instagram to like it.
Notes are just the status/stories feature that has been on Instagram since December 2022. It allows users to share text messages, Pictures, or videos that only last for 24 hours. Users have full control over who can see their status on the app. This is the feature that is found on every social media app these days.
