Microsoft is testing a long-requested feature for its OneNote application – a remainder setting – that would let users set remainder of tasks.
The feature’s availability was spotted in the code strings of OneNote’s Android app, and is yet to be confirmed by Microsoft. As we wait for the Redmond to roll out it out soon, the company may do it for all the OneNote clients simultaneously, when ready.

After ignoring for years, Microsoft is finally caring to add the most requested feature to its OneNote app – a reminder option, as noted (via Android Authority) by a reliable tipster, AssembleDebug.
The feature’s existence was found in the OneNote’s Android app, where a part of its code pointed to the remainder feature as below;
<string name="dismissReminder">Close reminder bottom sheet</string>
<string name="reminderChipLabelNextWeek">Next Week</string>
<string name="reminderChipLabelToday">Today</string>
<string name="reminderChipLabelTomorrow">Tomorrow</string>
<string name="reminderHeading">Reminder</string>
<string name="reminderSetForToastMsg">Reminder set for</string>
<string name="reminderTimeInPastMsg">The time has passed</string>
<string name="setReminderButton">Add Reminder</string>
<string name="setTimeReminder">Set Date and Time</string>
Though this was found in the OneNote’s Android app, Microsoft may bring this feature to all its OneNote clients across devices, when ready. With this addition, OneNote is now as powerful as the other note taking apps – like Google Keep and Samsung Notes – which have a remainder feature since a long time.
