After multiple leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 as its next-generation of foldable smartphones at its Unpacked event. These two foldable succeeded last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Fold 5. However, if you look closely, there are some minor upgrades between the two generations but a significant upgrade in terms of pricing. Samsung has jacked up the prices of its latest foldable compared to last year’s model. In this article, we will share details about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Specifications:
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a clamshell folding device that looks quite similar to its predecessor as there are not many changes to the design and look of the device. The device has a 3.4-inch super AMOLED cover display with a 720×748 pixels resolution. The cover display has a pixel density of 306 ppi and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. When unfolded, the device has an inner display of a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display panel. The inner display has an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that switches between 1Hz to 120Hz.
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy Mobile platform chipset paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. This chipset is made in collaboration between Qualcomm and Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy smartphones and is the slightly clocked-up version of the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Users can choose between 256GB and 512GB storage options for this device. It runs on One UI 6.1.1 on top of Android 14 out of the box with promised future security and Android updates.
For optics, a dual rear camera system is headlined by a 50MP primary wide-angle camera with dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization, and an f/1.8 aperture. The primary sensor is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree field of view. For selfies, there is a 10MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture housed in a centered punch-hole cutout of the inner display.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 packs a 4,000 mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support. There is no charger included in the retail box, so users have to purchase the 25W fast charger separately. Other specifications include IP48 water and dust resistance, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, LTE, and all other sensors.
Pricing:
The device is available in three colors that are Silver Shadow, Blue, and Mint. The base variant 12GB + 256GB storage is priced at $1,099 which is $100 more than the base variant of the previous generation. For the 512GB storage variant, users have to pay $1,219.
