We are still a month away from the official unveiling of Samsung’s 2020 flagship phone, the Galaxy S20. But images of the phone have just been leaked by XDA Developers.
The three leaked images include one of the startup screen, one of the home screen and one of the back of the phone, featuring a triple camera arrangement. From the leaked image of the startup screen, we can confirm the rumor that Samsung’s upcoming flagship will indeed be branded as ‘Galaxy S20’, and not ‘Galaxy S11’ as we had initially expected. Samsung has apparently decided to play on the arrival of the new decade. And with this new name, they have abandoned a tradition that began with the arrival of the Galaxy S back in 2010 and continued on till the arrival of the Galaxy S10 last year.
Here are the leaked images of the upcoming Galaxy S20+:
The Display
From the leaked image, we can tell that the Galaxy S20 will feature smaller bezels and a slightly less curved Infinity-O display. Many users have reported several practical problems with the curved display in the current and previous gen Galaxy smartphones. This could be the reason why Samsung has decided to go with a 2.5D glass this time around.
The phone will come with a screen protector pre-installed. The front camera is punched into a hole at the center of the top of the screen. The hole also looks smaller than the ones in the predecessor Galaxy S10, or the Galaxy Note 10.
Leaked Specs
According to GSMArena, the 5G variant of the S20, the S20+ 5G (model number SM-G986U), was recently spotted on the Geekbench 5’s benchmark databases. In the single core and multi-core tests by Geekbench 5, the phone scored 923 and 3,267 points respectively.

Samsung will unveil three different Galaxy S20 phones, including a 5G variant. In addition to the flagship phones, the company is also expected to unveil a clamshell design foldable phone. Unlike with the S10, where the S10+ was the best model in the stack, the S20 will have a third variant. The Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Galaxy S20 will supposedly have slightly bigger displays than the S20. But between the S20+ and the S20 Ultra, the latter will have a much superior camera setup.
