Vivo X100 Ultra Launched with 200MP Telephoto Lens

A year after the initial rumours, Vivo has finally launched the grand X100 Ultra flagship today, with a main focus on its rear cameras.

The handset comes with triple rear camera setup led by a 200MP telephoto lens, and two 50MP lens for wide and ultrawide shooting. It’s run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. It’s currently exclusive to China with no word on global launch.

Although Vivo has some of the best flagships today, the brand didn’t receive he limelight it deserved. Well, the new launch of X100 series may bring this fame – with the high-end model X100 Ultra leading the pack.

Launched today, Vivo’s new X100 Ultra is all about cameras. The handset has a triple rear camera setup led by a 200MP telephoto lens (the highest in any handset to date), and two 50MP lens as wide and ultrawide cameras. All three were ZEISS T* coated for reducing glare, and can produce a good image quality at up to 20x zoom.

The setup is certified with “CIPA 4.5” stabilization, and can record 4K cinematic portrait videos, says Vivo. Further, the company boasts on “underwater photography” to depths of up to 40 meters (131 feet), with the help of a third-party diving case.

Imaging aside, Vivo X100 Ultra has 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and a 5,500mAh battery supported by 80W wired charging. Lastly, it’s got an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and a long-range Wi-Fi mode to maintain stable connections at up to 150 meters away.

In terms of pricing, one should shell 6,499 yuan (~$898) for the 12GB/256GB model, 7,299 yuan (~$1,009) for the 16GB/512GB model and 7,999 yuan (~$1,106) for the 16GB/1TB model. This phone is currently available only in China, with no update on the global release.
